MY ORDINARY FAMILY
A family's history is set to music, telling the story of Konrad’s Polish grandfather, August Paszkudzki, and two defining characteristics of his life – his bravery during World War Two and his love of American jazz.
The horrific circumstances of the Nazi occupation of Lwów, Poland and the Paszkudzki's courage drove August and his family to risk their own lives to hide eight Jews in their home. One of the protected Jews ultimately became Konrad's grandmother.
The concert is a tip of the hat to Konrad's grandfather who, after his passing, was one of only 26,000 people worldwide ever to be awarded the esteemed “Righteous Among the Nations” medal.
